Nicolas has considerable experience in complex building & construction disputes and arbitrations. He is familiar with the Australian standard forms of building and engineering contracts and in navigating the highly technical evidence involved in this category of litigation. Nicolas is also a committee member of Melbourne TEC Chambers.

Before being called to the Bar, Nicolas practised as a solicitor at Clayton Utz in Melbourne and at Herbert Smith Freehills in London. He was also a judicial associate to the Hon. Justice Nettle AC of the High Court of Australia. Nicolas holds degrees in commerce and law from Monash University. He also read for the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded the Sir Rupert Cross prize in evidence.
